Oslo-Velo

Speculative project, February 2024

OsloVelo is a unique blend of a café by day and a bar by night, also serving as a popular venue for events like launches, exhibitions, film screenings, and the Drink & Draw drawing club.

The Design

The challenge lies in creating a cohesive environment where each function complements the others rather than competing for attention. By carefully curating each element, we've ensured that the different aspects of the space - whether it’s the café, bar, event venue, or showroom work together harmoniously by giving them their own colour theme. This thoughtful integration not only enhances the functionality of the space but also creates an inviting atmosphere.

Originally, OsloVelo combined a bike workshop, café, and bar in one vibrant space. Until the fall of 2023, it also hosted a vintage clothing shop and a showroom for artists and craftsmen.

Now, under new ownership, the bike workshop and vintage shop have been phased out. To honour the rich history of this space and celebrate its transformation, we've created a magazine that not only captures the story of OsloVelo but also chronicles the process of making it new again—a keepsake for visitors to enjoy.

Visiting a space that combines multiple functions into one hub can sometimes feel overwhelming. The visual and spatial chaos can create challenges for employees and leave visitors unsure of where to focus or what to do next.
